Fragrance Notes

Posted on

Have you ever wondered what the different notes of a fragrance refer to?

Top Notes
These are the opening notes, in other words the first 'sniff' of the fragance that you can  smell. They are the most likely to fade first.
Common top notes are: Lemongrass, Lime, Orange and Grapefruit

Middle Notes
They are at the heart of the fragance and soon start to reach your senses once the top notes begin to evaporate.
Common middle notes are: Cardamom, Geranium, Rosemary and Neroli

Base Notes
These will begin to appear as soon at the top notes have gone. These are the longest lasting notes. They will begin to blend with the middle notes and combined will give you a full sense of the eventual fragrance.
Common base notes are: Frankincense, Oakmoss, Vanilla and Sandalwood
